If I can apply online, then why I cannot attempt paper online?

2015 is about to say goodbye and
we have already stepped in digital world where technology is changing life and
making it more comfortable and cozy. But this is only happening in the most
developed countries like it starts from United States and goes beyond the
borders. But it is not happening all around the world at that speed. Those
countries are super successful where technology is improving. The most
developed countries of the world depend on their technology, because technology
is the one with which they can beat others. This is the era of tech war. Human
dependency on work is getting less demanded because technology makes work more
precisely and more quick and it is less time consuming. But every ground has
its own dynamics. Like Pakistan, an underdeveloped country. It has been said at
numerous points and times that Pakistan is fighting for its survival. There was
always a lack of true and pure leadership in Pakistan. Everyone says that there
is no lack in Pakistan but in contrast no one is ready to harness this talent.
As a result it spoils. The same is the case with Pakistan technical improvement.
Despite being a pool of amazing technical geniuses, Pakistan is still improving
its technology to get appeared in the maps. But apart from seeing the glass
half empty, Pakistan has adopted some good technical achievements. The most
common example is distance education and education on internet.
As the clock is ticking books
are becoming old fashioned. Today is a day of E-Books. You can carry your book
in your mobile or tablet on in computer. There is no need to carry a 5 pound
bag filled with thick books. Colleges and specially universities are offering
online facility to get enrolled in their institution. So that they don’t have
to go to main campus and take guide about the course. They just have to open
the website and see the guidelines and outlines of the course. If they found it
useful they can fill the online, and apply online for admission in university.
This makes less pressure on universities and students too because of the kind
of technology which is making you able to do something at your home rather than
going to institution and face the crowd. This technology is making real
progress because it is very much time saving.
Besides Universities and
colleges govt. institutions are also using this technology as their ease of
access. Govt. institutes has to meet
large number of people regardless of their origin. NADRA is the most notable
govt. institution which deals with thousands of visitors daily. From this
online application system people can for jobs online which is considered as one
of the best factor of this system. This technology has lessen the burden of
paper work. Paper work is hectic and time consuming.
Talking about universities and
the system of online application. There is a pretty weak or should I say
neglected side of this system. The point I am trying to raise is if a person
can apply online then why he cannot take exams online. What is the thing that
is stopping universities and other institutions to take exams online rather
than taking on papers? If there is a facility to apply then why there is no
option to take papers online? Is the institution is not ready to new technology
or it does not have the technology? These are some mine questions.

How the online exams system will work without compromising integrity. |
CSS,PMS and PPSC are some of the
most important exams in Pakistan and these all exams are held on paper while to
take these exams one must have to apply online on their related websites. CSS
exams are held once in every year and it catches a huge amount of candidates.
These exams are considered very tough. The ration of success in CSS exams is in
single digit while the ratio of candidates that applied take exams is in
thousands. CSS exams are held by Federal Public Service Commission of Pakistan.
The reasons why I think that the
exams should be held online rather than on papers are:
Exams
on Paper
1- In 2013 after the
CSS exams the answer sheets of exams were disappeared from Faisalabad raising
the question mark on credibility of CSS exams. These exams are the most prestigious
exams of Pakistan.
2- Paper work is hectic
and is more time taking for both the student and institute.
3- Paper work is
becoming old trend.
4- In paper work there
are hundred percent of chances of spoofing and cheating because papers are
not directly sent to head office but they travel from different mediums to
reach final destinations. In this process there are chances that there papers
are compromised.
5- On economic point of
view, the paper exams are costly.
6- To check the papers
there is a need for staff who will check the papers.
|
Exams
on Internet
1- There are almost
zero chances of corruption in online exams because the exams files are directly
submitted to head office so there is no cycle which transfers the exams to
head office. Candidates answer the questions on computer and when they submit
their exams the exams file automatically sent to head office.
2- This system makes
exams more easy and feasible.
3- Less time and man
effort is utilized.
4- This system is
economically sound because there will be minimal need of exams staff.
5- These papers will be
saved in cloud so that the credibility of exams is not compromised.
6- The institute don’t
have to hire new staff to run this system because every organization has its
own IT staff who can do this work very well.
7- Using this exams
system will surely present a positive image on other institutions and will
also motivate them to adapt this kind of system.

Ahead there is all tech era and
one nation cannot survive using old school techniques. Education is the best
possible way to start and step in tech war. Giving exams online the best option
and choice rather than going for papers.
