Islam is the most susceptible religion to exercise terrorism.

Terrorism recognizes no law. According to definition of terrorism “it is the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims”. Terrorists groups with secular mythos and irreligion aims tend to undertake precisely selected acts of violence in order to achieve their political aims. In this process they try to maintain casualties at minimum level as their goal is to spread terror among the people and make them to join their organization. This type of terrorism is mostly opting by new organizations. The reason to keep casualties at minimum level is to retain backlash that might damage the organization. Contrarily, religiously oriented groups typically attempt to inflict as many casualties as possible. According to their frame of work, loss of life is neglected, the more deaths the better. Terrorists consider their moral duty to kill those who are non-believers on their vision. Even if they are intended targets or die in collateral damage they deserve death if they are non-believers. Target selected by the groups often reflect their aims and thoughts. Groups motivated by secular or political penetration will target emblematic authority, government offices, banks or even multinational companies and organizations e.g. World Trade Center depending on the size of the organization. Religious groups follow the same symbols but with greater human casualties. Religious groups tend to add religiously affiliated individual such as missionaries to targeting equation. In November 15,2014 UAE issued a list of 83 Islamic groups which it classified as “terrorist’s organizations”. Here is a reason why this is all happening in Islam. According a study released by Pew Research Center, Islam, the world’s fastest growing faith, will leap from 1.6 billion (2010) to 2.76 billion in 2050, according to the Pew study. At that time Muslims will make up nearly 1/3^rd of the total world projected population of about 9 billion people. There is a concept about Islam which makes it susceptible and reasonable to practice Islam which is “Islam is a totalitarian ideology that rejects Democracy”. Almost all the Islamic countries have some democratic structures which is not acceptable by the mullahs and other Islamic believers. The other reason could be to present a negative image of Islam before the world by spreading terror. Being Islam is the most penetrated and well known religion the terrorists will get more recognition and attention of the world. But how Islam became most known religion?

It all started after September 11,2001 attacks. Those attacks were a series of four coordinated attacks by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda on United Stated World Trade Center. And in reply from USA it started war in Afghanistan on October 7, 2001. The President George W. Bush announced the beginning of war in Afghanistan. At that time Afghan Taliban and Al-Qaeda are the most known militant’s groups. There groups were acknowledged by only Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. This war became the main cause to start terrorism specially in Pakistan. Terrorists from Afghan border started to sneak in Pakistan and started penetrate in Pakistan by establishing small affiliate groups and organizations with Islamic names. Because Pakistan is Islamic state so everyone would have no doubt on their work as the organization is Islamic and no one tried to see what they are doing behind the curtain of their name. As after the war was started in Afghanistan so the terrorists were weakened and trying to grab shelter as the US forces have landed on Afghan soils. So for them, the best and ultimate destination was Pakistan. The terrorists and militants started to migrate from border some of the disguised in the form of civilians and some using stealthy way to enter in Pakistan. The tribal areas like FATA and Baluchistan were ideal for them to reside as they were alike the people who were already living there. Most of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda leader were shot dead in Afghanistan and some of them like Osama Bin Laden were hided in Afghanistan. Those who had made their way to Pakistan decided to build new their force. But the difficulty for them was how to catch people and train them. They learned their environment and surroundings. As the Taliban’s were Muslims so they chose Islam as the best way to build their force. They started to open religious institutions in the name of Holy teachings and making them good Muslims. But inside of the institutions they were actually brain washing of students by teaching them about people who are against Islam depicting them as enemy of Islam. In 2013, Turkistan Islamic Party, an Al-Qaeda affiliated terror group released a short video showing children’s firing weapons at training camp in Pakistan while they were also taught teachings of Holy Quran. Moreover, in the name of Deeni Madaris children are trained for terrorism in the name of jihad. Those who were attending madrassas are almost all poor and around 1.5 million were enrolled in in these institutions in Pakistan in 2005. But the question was being Muslims like them? Are they teaching true Islam? A general answer is no! and to support this I quote a “fatwa” that was issued by at least 50 Islamic Scholars of Pakistan belonging to “Sunni Etihad Council” and the fatwa states that;

Taliban’s interpretation of Islam was incorrect and was deviant from the actual interpretation of the Sharia.

Islam teaches peace and brotherhood not war. The biggest jihad is “jihad-bin-nafs” means fighting against your own self desires, ideas and power of lust, anger and insatiable imagination placing all of them under the dictates of reason and faith in obedience to God’s command, and finally, purging all satanic ideas and influences from one’s soul. On the contrary Taliban’s Al-Qaeda and other jihadi groups are training other kind of jihad to kill innocent people so they will be awarded a place in Jannah. This clearly depicts their ill thoughts and missions. They can’t be true Muslims who are killing other Muslims without having any solid reasons. They just see Islam tag and stick it to their forehead portraying negative image of Islam.   

The other thing that makes extremists to choose Islam is the concept of jihad and framework of living life in the light of Islam. Today is a modern day where people tend to be more communicative and interact with each other with more freedom than ever but according to Islam teachings these all things are forbidden and that’s where the extremists take the lead. They hold the tail of Religion Islam disguising as being the true Muslims with the aims to impose Islamic law in the region. But as a matter of fact they are no way near about Islam teachings. They are just using Islam name because of its unique and one if its own kind of model living life. Majority of them are not even Muslims but they pretend to be Muslims. Then these extremists group recruit Muslims people to pursuit in their targets and ambitions. And their targets are and were never be to impose the true teachings of Islam. They just wanted to take over land and build their own place of living under the name of Islam where only their laws are valid but their laws are totally mirror image of Islamic laws. These extremist’s groups turned into organization after they get stable and become recognized in the eyes or world.  In today’s world many old Islamic terrorist’s organizations and groups are either become feeble or ended. The only and most famous in news today’s day is ISIS.

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), is a Wahhabi/Salafi and jihadi extremist militant group proclaim to be Caliphate and Islamic State. ISIS is mainly led by sunni Arabs from Iraq and Syria. Their leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is named to be their caliph. ISIS proclaiming to be a Caliphate with the image of religious, political and military authority over all Muslims worldwide. But as a matter of fact ISIS is the totally wrong image is Islam. According to Obama remarks “No religion condones the killing of innocent and vast majority of ISIS victims were Muslims”. ISIS is recognized by no government. It is just a terrorist organization pure and simple. And it has no vision other than slaughter of all whoever stands in its way. These terrorists are unique and insane in their brutality. They execute captured prisoners just to prove how savage they are, they kill children, rape and force women into marriage. In barbarism they took lives of two innocent American Journalists. This all is violence of Islamic law and policy. ISIS force Muslims to convert into Islam but this is not fair in Islam. A person has to be completely willing from his heart to come to Islam.  Now the stats also show that ISIS is a false representation of Islam. Active participants in ISIS consists mainly of young Sunni men living in the Arab world. You may know that but if you see deeply it shows (1) young, (2) Sunni, (3) men who are (4) Arabs, if you were to graphically depict these feature in a Venn diagram of the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims, prospective ISIS supporters would be a minority within a minority. Four out of five Muslims aren’t Arabs or live in Middle east. Among them who do live maybe a quarter are young Sunni males, and most of them show little side to actively support ISIS. When you do Math, it appears that the “available market” for ISIS ideas is only 5% of the global Muslim community and as of today most of that market isn’t buying. ISIS is a complex operation whose followers have various notions and motives. They all maybe Muslims but that doesn’t show that they all own the same exact creed. ISIS isn’t the first militant organization that has captured young generation to its cause by arrogating to represent a higher calling. Hitler’s early appeal to anomic young males in the beer halls of Munich – The notion of thousands years Reich, the need for lebensraum, the scapegoating of Jews was similar to the appeals that ISIS issues today. Every culture has large numbers of young males who can be utilized chiliastic philosophy, not because of the content of the vision, but because young generation hanker for power and status and resources. The underlying are some motivational dynamics that states why have massive success at recruiting even when they marry completely opposite ideas. If you look at governance system of ISIS, it would be impossible to that it is just making things up as it goes and in the end giving it Islamic luster only after the fact.

According to Travel and Leisure Magazine 8 out of 10 most dangerous countries in the world are Muslims and Pakistan is topping the list ranking at 1^st position. And there are total 46 Muslims countries where Muslims are in majority and most of them are in state of war against terrorism. So in reference to these countries, the one reason that might be the cause of Islamic terrorism is that there is freedom of speech and expression in Islam. Every person has the right to express his feelings and thoughts. But some people uses that right in the wrong manner. As there is no hindering to build and run organizations in most of the Muslims countries like in Pakistan so that causes the integration of terrorism in Muslims world. Most of these organizations are either supported or supporting the terrorism. This makes this a whole unique terrorist system where on one side financial help is coming and from the other side weapons are coming. They all have one single aim which could be to gain the control of the country of impose sharia law as much as they can. They believe in the caliphate and legacy system not on political system like Prime Minister and elections. This all happens under the Umbrella of Islam, noting that this is what Islam says. These groups believe in freedom of speech but limit only on to themselves. They consider themselves superior to hall humans and regard themselves as they are gifted some special powers from Allah. They pictured in their mind that the western world all other who are western followers are sinners and their ultimate place is Hell. They teach and brainwash their soldiers that if they kill them all the non-believers then you will go to Heaven. But according to Islam this is not the ultimate way to enter in Heaven. Shockingly these terrorist’s organizations are supported by the Islamic organizations and NGO’s. Jamaat-e-Islami is one of the Pakistan very well knowned political party of Pakistan. First it was accused and then proofs showed that it is linked with terrorism and is supporting terrorist organizations in Pakistan. The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulvi Siraj-ul-Haq was spotted at funeral prating alonglisde Faqir Mohammad, a terrorist complicit in the deaths of hundreds of Pakistanis. This clearly shows that in most of the cases Muslims are supporting others to kill Muslims. And according to Islam teaching a person who killed one human killed the whole humanity and one who saved one’s life saved the whole humanity.

Now summarizing this topic, this has been clearly defined and demonstrated with the examples that Islam is like what it has been presented in front of the world. This is a religion of peace not protest. Islam teaches us brotherhood not bloodshed. Every Muslim is brother of other Muslim and all the Muslims are Unite. But what terrorism has done to Islam image is un-expected, unimagined. Terrorism has taken image of Islam to another side where it is laid out as cruel religion with ethnic style of living. But there is nothing like it.   Most of the negative imaging of Islam is done by a relatively small minority of Christians and Jews and those writers and reporters who are under their power. These people are not going to simply stop if we rejected the death penalty for apostasy. They will just find something else to paint Islam negatively. The only way they can stop is if the challenge of Islam is removed and Muslims start behaving like them. The Holy Qur`an talks about such Jews and Christians when it says:

Neither the Jews nor the Christians will be pleased with you (O Muhammad) till you follow their millah. Say: “Surely, the guidance of God is the (true) guidance”. And if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, then you would not have any protector or helper against God. (2:120)
